What material is best for a pencil holder?
Because pencil and pen holders don’t have any moving parts and won’t be exposed to heat, they can be created using just about any filament from PLA to ABS. Simple containers don’t need to be anything but static objects, so as long as they’re not so brittle that things like scissors or sharp rulers will damage them, you can use any material you like.
How big should a pencil holder be?
Outside of novelty pencil and pen holders, the standard size is anything that can fit neatly on standard-sized office desks. It’s also important not to make each container so large that it becomes difficult to remove pens and pencils they’re designed to hold.
Generally speaking, they shouldn’t exceed 7-10 inches in height for easy access and should have a maximum thickness of 3mm so they don’t take up too much space.
