Many of us use our computers for gaming, and while keyboard shortcuts do become muscle memory for any regular user after a while, that doesn’t mean we don’t want a better and cooler way to know what button does what.

A designer took this, along with the confusingly named elemental attacks, and decided to make it easier with these 3D printed keycaps depicting the various magical abilities.
While muscle memory can take a while to take hold, these keycaps, if printed and mapped correctly, mean you’ll never be caught accidentally casting fire magic on a flame elemental again.

We all like to add our own flair to our stuff, and sometimes the best way to get going with this flair is to get what is essentially a blank canvas.
This 3D printed keycap design, if made with transparent material, makes for such a canvas, inside which you can place whatever you like.
You can 3D print, or otherwise make or find, your own additions to this design using resin or FDM filaments. Custom letters and symbols, pictures, logos, or just about anything you like. While my personal favorite is the Succubus Queen model found here, there are 9 others in Creasi’s collection to choose from if you’re in the market for something truly unique. Each one should be a welcome addition to anyone’s keyboard.
Kurama Keycap

Kurama, also known as the Nine-Tails of Naruto fame, is a good example of a simple concept done well in 3D keycap design that no Naruto fan should miss.
While not extensively detailed, the Kurama keycap is a nice demonstration of how artisan keycaps can be made without needing a degree in art. Not to mention a nice addition to any Naruto fan’s keyboard.
Corgi Puppy Keycaps

Well, here’s an enter key if you’re in the market for something to make your final point a touch more special. The Boom Enter Key is just the addition any keyboard needs to put that extra punctuation to the end of a statement that you’re glad to have out of the way.
Because of its simplicity, you don’t need a fancy resin printer to get the best results, as any plastic filament will do nicely.
Superhero Logo Keycaps

Anime Keycaps

Kurama isn’t the only anime-inspired 3D printable keycap out there. Dragon Ball legends Buu and Cell are also available, as are the Titans of Attack on Titan fame.
Pokémon like the Jolteon found here are also a good call for anime or videogame fans to express themselves with their hardware. Eevee, Flareon, and the rest of the Eeveelutions are also amongst the other models from the same creator! Of course, you’ll need to get the right color to create the completed the effect, but that’s just part of the process.
How do I 3D model keycaps?
You can use any CAD software to download, create, or modify any 3D printed keycap model. For more options and a wider range of creative tools, you can use your preferred 3D modeling software to make a design from scratch. Just make sure to measure them accurately so they fit over your existing keyboard’s key spaces.

Can you print keycaps with PLA?
While resin is the best choice for 3D printing keycaps due to its high resolution and intricately detailed prints, PLA or similar plastic material is still a great choice for making keycaps if you don’t have access to a resin printer, and you can make sure you get the best results by following the recommended settings as outlined in our PLA guide.
ABS is also a good option, along with any other filament that’s flexible enough to be molded easily through the modeling and printing process, but also sturdy enough to withstand regular typing.
